It's not rare to see floating gemstones in the quarries and other water holes down here (or so I've been told), but there's a different between gemstones which might float, and Krokry, a long-necked gemstone eater who uses its food source to grow gems on its back. I found one and watched for a few hours, taking notes, and I thought it was interesting that the color of gemstones they ate didn't match what they grew on their back, but all of them had a flat, "stone" colored back base in a neutral color, from slate to chestnut to sandy.
